Client Description
The Student Senate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute serves and represents the interests of the student body, developing projects and passing legislation within the RPI Union involving academic affairs, facilities, student rights, and all other topics pertinent to the student body.
At RPI, students truly have the power to make a difference on campus. The Student Senate, chaired by the Grand Marshal, is the chief policy making body of the Student Union. The Senate is responsible for bringing change to campus,everything from academic reforms to Concerto, the campus-wide digital signage system.
Project Brief
The Senate is a relatively influential and historical group on campus, and the branding reflects that. However, we felt that it also needed to convey a professional tone without being to simple or dated.
Projects for the Senate included an entire re-branding, which consisted of a refreshed logo, new letterhead and stationery, and a website redesign. Another large project was the style guide or ‘brand book,’ which details design, logos, and color schemes to use for Senate materials. We also created graphics for the annual conference which the Senate holds at the beginning of each term.
We also recommended the creation of a group to handle media and design in the future, naming the committee and branding it.
